COS

Title Slash

COS relaxes into SS 2011 as informal pieces (sweatshirts; shirt dresses; rolled up trousers; Bermuda shorts and rucksacks) claim fashion leader status. The collection oozes individualism whilst upholding COS' ethos of timeless wearable fashion.

COS' fashion stance is to give convention a spin, not contort it out of recognition. COS similarly subverts the fashion order of things for everyday fabrics. Laidback denim leaps in status when given a sheen-finish and then artfully sculpted into a LBD with cow-bell-shape skirt. Sporty neoprene mixed with silk loses its rubbery feel yet retains a sculptural handle.

Menswear plays on contrasts in its pared-down look. Think Mormon meets artisan (pin-neat short-sleeved shirts, rolled trouser hems, neckerchiefs, Breton tops and lace-up shoes).

Accessories are an ode to understated luxury. Butter-soft leather shoppers fold into slouchy-cool clutches. Men's urban-country rucksacks in rich evergreen or tobacco canvas are edged in handsome bridle leather. And lace-up shoes are simplistically refined in unblemished leather.

SS 2011 affirms COS' fashion mantra of modernist, relevant, accessible clothing.
